Hi I'm using Microsoft Excel XP and am after creating a bar graph that will have space for future data (i.e. Jan - Feb is already plotted and there is space for Mar - Dec). The problem is when i apply data labels, the blank months have "0" as their data label (the plot empty cells as: not plotted is selected). The graph gathers it's data from formulas and this can not be changed. Is there any way not to show the "0"?

Also does anyone know of a good book about Microsoft Graph for Office?

Thanks for your help in advance

Gareth

this 1 is fairly easy.

once u have plotted ur chart. click on the lables once. all the labels will be selected. go to Format ,Selected Data Labels. select Number tab. click custom and pick a suitable number format (example: #,##0_);(#,##0) )
and in the "Type:" field change it to
#,##0_);(#,##0);[/colour]
