Urgent query, need to populate a Form with around 1900 Contact Names in a Form already set up under appropriate Company. Data is under relevant Company name in a Table datasheet view but is not coming acoss unless I enter a parameter value (the Customer ID) - this only allows the names of one company record to be entered - what can I try ?

Thanks.

Using a astrick, instead of the Customer ID, should return all records.

Hillary, sounds promising, where do I type the asterisk, it's not accepting it in the parameter value box ?

Cheers

I always put it in the parameter value box. When you say it's not accepting it, is the system giving you an error?

Hillary

Just really confused, if I put 1 in it lists the contacts under ' Superdrug ' in the form cos that's the company ID, but none of the other 1500 or so. No error message as such just this Enter Parameter Value, Customer ID ?

Where should I be when trying stuff, Form or Table, Design View or Datasheet ?

R U based in the UK ?

Thanks

You should be putting the astrick (above the number 8 on your keyboard) in the same place you put the 1. The * acts as a wildcard. Are you trying to open a form? If so open it the same way and instead of entering a 1 enter *

Let me know if this doens't work and I'll try to explain how you can change it in the design view of a query.

I'm in New York. It's late there isn't it???

Hillary

Tried typing the * in place of the 1 when the parameter value prompt comes up but it doesn't work. I can open the form ok. I just ran a query already set up and managed to get all the names in the form but there was an error message #Name? in all the company fields - so it seems its either one or the other and I need both.

Thanks

I'm glad you were able to pull the data you need. I really don't know what else you can do besides delete the parameter off the query.

Does your form have a subform?

Hillary

I have a problem, I want to create a button which will open a new form. The new form will be a existing form the only difference is that it is empty form so that user can enter new data and select the company name from the combobox which is one of the field. The only constraint will be that everytime a new form is open combobox of company name should display a new value.

Any help will be appreciated.
