Data Entry Macro

I have an Excel macro that enters data from Excel into a web based ERP system (PeopleSoft). It is an ugly macro that simply consists of a bunch of "Sendkeys" and "Wait" commands. Does anybody know of another way that Excel can interact with the web browser (Explorer) for data entry in a less ugly fashion? If so, could you point me to an example? Thank you.

ps. doing a mass upload of the data to PeopleSoft is not possible (or not easy, actually).
