I have a number of dbf files. Some times it is observed that the file is O.K. i.e. not corrupt and even it is possible to create indexes on the same. But at the same time few records of the dbf are corrupt. i.e. if you see the file in browse mode, a few records show some of the filed partly or completely filled with 'capital U '. Even if the field is numeric, still you can see the UUU s in this field. There is no apparant reasone for the corruption.

Can some one guide me please on how to avoide such corruption.
