My data control object in Visual Basic 6 is only working with Access 97 files. I need it to work with 2000 files.
When I try to select the record source in the 2000 files I am getting a message "unrecognized database format".

HELP!!

What are you using DAO? ADO? What version? It sounds like you need to update your control. If you choose to battle wits with the witless be prepared to lose.

I have the same problem here!
But how do you update your control??
Bear in mind: I'm a VB nOOb!

Make sure you have the latest VB service pack installed (Sp5).

Start by placing a new data control on your form, just to make sure.

In the properties window for the Data control set the "Connect" property to "ACCESS 2000" (should show up in the drop down list)

How can I check which Sp I'm using? And where 2 download?
I've looked at the MS-site but I can't find something like this anywhere.

Ah never mind, found it! Thanks for the info above.
