Data Block Corrupted

Hi everybody , I do not know whether AIX has anything to do with this problem. But I am sure there are some expert here in this forum who can solve my problem. Here Oracle 7.3.4 running on AIX in IBM RS6000. The f0llowing error message I got yesterday. I hope someone can help me in this matter
"ORACLE data block corrupted (file #24 block #33931) data file 24:'/d05/oradata/ctglive/data/ebcd11.dbf' at "SYS.DBMS_UTILITY", LINE 232

Hi,

This looks like an ORACLE DB corruption issue.I would look at oracle forum.

However,prior to this - you can check for filesystem/disk/scsi errors oriented to the specific disk/filesystem wher ORACLE DB remains.Just run:

errpt |grep -E "scsi|hdisk" "Long live king Moshiach !"

Hi,

Assuming hdisk4 is the one where you have your ORACLE DB (check using &quot;lspv&quot; and &quot;lsvg -l <vgname>&quot you have to replace the faulty disk.
Or it can be a scsi probem - cable,termination,HBA.

If it's a disk problem - refer to the following for replacemnt procedure (assume you have a good backup ..):
