Hi everybody!

I hope this is not a stupid question....

The primary key in the first table in my DB relates to multiple records in my second table.
The number of linked records in the second table can be anything from 1 to 35.
Now I would like to create a report with data from the first table and all the relevant data from the second.

It can't be all that difficult, but I have failed so far.

Regards,

Frank

I find it's easier to get the records from the detail and then sort/group/filter by the primary record field.

Thanks for the quick reply!
But I don't think this will work in my case because I have this scenario over and over again.

The setup is as follows:
Table 1 Table 2 Table 3
key data f-key data f-key data
1 a 1 aa 1 aaa
1 bb 1 bbb
1 cc
2 b 2 aa
3 c 3 aa 3 aaa
4 d 4 ddd

What I would like to have in the report is:
Key&Data from Table a
all linked Data from Table 2 (if any)
all linked data from Table 3 (if any)

So far I have I have created reports showing one record for each entry in table 1 or 2 or, working with aliases, reports following the rule number of aliases = number of entrys in Table 2 (or 3). I hope I make myself clear (English is not my first language).
I also tryed several attempts at formulas and SQL-expressions, but with my Crystal traing tow weeks in the futre and the german documentation not being very helpfull I failed.

Regards Frank

Hello Frank,
I may be off-target here, but if you are only looking for relevant information between tables (where data matches), go into your table linking expert, and make sure your join type is set as an equal join between tables. If this fails, what about grouping based on data from the first table?
Good luck,
