Hi all,
I have a Windows 2003 with a dat 72, my question is how can i reuse the tapes? because every time want to use a old tape i have different errors.

thanks

We really need a little more info, what software are you using, and what are the errors.

You say the tape is old, the little DAT32s are quite easily worn out, perhpas you could try a new tape.

Martin

im using windows 2003 and the back app that comes with the OS.

OK, so what errors are you getting, and is this happening on all tapes.

I am not familiar with the built in app, but will help as best I can.

I guess when you say old tape, you mean one that has been used as opposed to old as in age ?

the issue is i cant re use them,, i try all the ways i can but cant use and old tape.

thanks for your help!!!

So, when you try to use a tape, what happens.

What are the exact error messages and or codes.

Many thanks,

Martin

im trying to get the logs for tomrrow. but the issue is cant re write and old tape.

thanks!!!!!!

What everyone is asking is: why do you think that you can't reuse the old tapes?

Are you using the "Backup or Restore Wizard" or are you running a the backup from the command line, a script, or a scheduled task?

If you're using the wizard, after clicking on "Advanced" to get the advanced settings, and then clicking through and/or configuring items in the next two windows are you checking the radio button next to "Replace existing backups"?

If you're running the backup from the command line, a script, or a scheduled task then paste your script, etc. so that we can have a look at it.

Hope this helps.
