DAT drive capacity - tapes or drive?

Is the capacity of a DAT drive dependent on the physical drive or the tapes (i.e. the different lengths)? I think the drive we are using is on 11 or 13 gig but i am just checking!

Hi,

Its even worse than you think. Capacaty in Dat country is dependend on drive, tape length and compression.
First checkout which drive type you have. Then find out its NATIVE capacity. Then you know what you should at least achieve. Compression is never a stable figure. Its depending on your data.
