I am trying to write some code in VBA, but when i specify a DAO.Recordset, i get a type mismatch. Does anyone know how to get Access 2000 to automatically reference DAO?

HI

Open any code module in design view

Choose Tools\References from the menu

Look down the list of object libraries and select DAO (if there is more than one version, choose the highest number)

To avoid confusion with objects of same name in ADO, always specify the library in the DIm statement eg Dim Rs as DAO.Recordset

Thank you for helping. DAO was not on the list of options, but it did have a browse button in order for me to append the .dll file to add DAO.

Thanks.
