Every time lately that I try to use the DAO I keep getting an error that says Data Access Library Not found. Would anyone know what this means? I re-installed VBPro several times and still get the same thing. I also re-installed Windows ME and then re-installed VB. Nothing has worked. This all started last night.

I hope someone can tell me whats going on with this error.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

don't really know what it could be. Did you try to add it with VB 6, Project References??

VB6 can not working with MS-Access 2000 or more properly,
you must install VB service pack 6 or MDAC 2.6 or more
Hope this help

If you are using VB5 you will probably want to stick with DAO, I have used DAO for several years with VB5 and VB6 and it has been working well for me. There are some things in VB6 that will require ADO (I think, probably get corrected on this). VB6 introduced dataGrid, Report Writer and some other stuff that works only with ADO. But you will still need to add a reference to it in your programs, just like DAO. ADO seems to be the wave of the future, Visual Basic.Net upgraded it to ADO.Net, so it might be worth the effort to learn it.
