I want to check system error log daily.

Of course I know errpt |pg command.

But let me know the intellegent script for daily checking error logs. I want to extract today-log and mail it to system admin.

I got it..
I found the option to set the Date of errpt command.

Thank you.

Send me an E-mail (Wverzal@komint.com) and I'll send you a script that monitors the errlog and mails the results when it changes.

Bill.

LeDam!!

You can check that option by man command.
In a word, -s and -e option. (start/end date)

For example, I tried to use like this.
$ errpt -s "`date +%m%d`0000`date +%y`"

I wrote a script that used the -s option, logged the error id and then reported how many matching error id's had been reported, along with the description.

I can certainly drag out the script if you wish..?

Cheers,
Dave V.

I'd be very interested in seeing the script also...
