daemon error using informix sqlexecd

Hi,

Am building a new P-610 server that has informix 7.1 Se and ISAM on it. I'm trying to invoke the sqlexecd but keep on getting the error :-

daemon err = -25592: Communications service not supported by network driver.

Could anyone advise where to look next. The ethernet drivers installed are :-

devices.common.IBM.ethernet.rte 4.3.3.79 COMMITTED Common Ethernet Software

devices.pci.23100020.rte 4.3.3.78 COMMITTED IBM PCI 10/100 Ethernet

It sounds like the protocol type is set incorrectly in sqhlhosts (second field one each line). You probably want to use sesoctcp if you are using tcp/ip over ethernet. Come back if this doesn't help.

make sure your sqlhosts file is set with sesoctcp as mentioned, also make sure that you have added the service to /etc/services
example:
/informix/etc/sqlhost
remote_db sesoctcp myhost sqlexecd

/etc/services
sqlexecd 1525/tcp
sqlexecd 1525/udp
