Good morning,
I'm new to taking care of a Panasonic D816 Digital Hybrid System.

How do I record a general outgoing message announcing the Company and opening times etc.? I have followed the D816 user manual on page 292 with a T7436 handset. However, I cannot play back the old recorded message or get a proper response with confirmation tones from the system. I'm sure I'm making a mistake here or have overlooked something. Any help to get me going would be appreciated greatly.
Thank You,
Kurt

My TD has FOUR (4) manuals and none of them have anything to do with the voice mail where you could have an auto attendant greeting.

Which page 292 were you referring to?

The manual in question is Manual-User KX-TD.pdf (Panasonic Digital Super Hybrid system KX-TD816. I downloaded this manual from KX-TD.pdf. It was the only manual available. My only manuals on site are Voice Processing System Subscriber Guide KX-TVS50 and Operating instructions for KX-T7420 through KX-T7456. The Main phone is a KX-T7436.

I went through the TVS50 manual but cannot find an area for an Auto Attendant greeting. The greetings are all going into personal mail boxes. What am I overlooking here?

Thanks for trying to help me sort through this.

When you get into the VM manual, you're overlooking the fact that you need a serial cable connected to the serial port of the VM so you can read how the AA is configured, unless you happen to be a good guesser.
ought to be a good start.

We usually set up the Custom Service menu answer calls and record the greetings. I tend to use 30 for day, 60 for night and 40 for holiday. That way, if you need to put extra information out, you have 3x numbers for sub menus, like 33 for option 3 to give directions or a voice directory.

If for some reason the link is broken, try this and search for TVS-50 installation. I have better luck saving the target on this site.

Spend some time with the manual, but pay close attention to pages 102 forward. It's the instructions for reading the existing database and setting up CS menus.

Outside of that, this ends your free forun lesson :)

Thanks LkEErie,
This manual got me on the right track. No wonder I had questions without it. Section 6 beginning on pg.130 was especially valuable.
