One day an Avaya product will just work....

Am trying to get a D100 dect base station/phone to work but constantly get "login failed" on the handset when entering SIP Dect ext number and 1234 (set on user tab and supervisor login tab) am I missing something? System status is showing alarm for wrong username and password as soon as the message appears so I know the base station and IP500 are talking..

I am connecting the D100 over a VPN, however I only got to this stage when testing it in the office where the IP500 is. Any clues??

I saw a post saying that you need to delete user and extension and then re-create extension before the user, however this hasnt helped....

IP500 V2 on 9.0.6
Base Station Firmware is D100_0.8.6_0.9.6
Phone Firmware D160_0.8.6

1st of all I would upgrade as 9 0 6 is a horrible software release with a tons of bugs as far as the phone try setting another log in code. Maybe it doesn't like 1234 as a password.

Tried 1579 but still login failed. Will try upgrading. presumably connectivity is ok as he green light is solid?

Thinking of upgrading to 9.1 but guess that will cause even more problems :)

Do you have a configuration we can see?

Your d100 is a SIP unit. Have you created a SIP Dect Line.
When your d100 has finished booting, both the blue and green lights are on?

Your extension is a SIP Dect Extension?
Under the Extension tab, you have forced registration set?
Under the SIP Base extension in the user, you have the right base station?

Under the user Telephony -> Supervisor Settings you have a login code?

In system, you have sip registrar enabled?

I'm not trying to be condescending, I'm just throwing out anything I can think of.

Regards.

Lights should be BLUE and GREEN.

This means the basestation is connected and working.

Don't forget to adjust the security setting to allow registration of the basestation .
Http unsecure low.

Do you mean you are trying to set the base station up via a VPN CCT.
Or is the basestation on a remote connection via a vpn in a different location.

I sure that won't be supported.

It should be on the local LAN.

Have a PPTP vpn enabled on my home router to office server. Lights are blue and green end phone is at login prompt but won't accept ext/password..

System status does also show it trying to log in so connectivity is ok it would seem..

Ok then
Press the button on the front for 5seconds until blue light flashes.
Press regit on phone
Enter 3100 and press delft button

This should bring to login.
Enter extn number
Enter user password

You do have AV endpoint licences for handsets

I'm already at the "Login Config" screen, it just wont accept username and password. Definitely have enough IP endpoints..

On relase 9 ipo dosent accept password under 5 or 6 digit if you did not change it in security thab.

Did you try adding the same 6 digit password everywhere

1.user thab
2.supervisor tab
3.extension tab

Good luck

As previously stated...it's a Sip DECT extn an not a sip extn that you created.

I made that mistake before...I created sip extns by mistake and could not get past the login.

Can confirm it is a SIP DECT ext already... Will try longer password, though 4 digits hasn't generated any alarms..

Longer password doesn't work either... One day I will see a logged in D160...

My goodness. I cannot figure this out either.
Working on getting a D160 up is like building a pyramid apparently.
IPO 9.0.500.972
D100 registered just fine, Static ip address also, Phone registered to D100, Extension built and associated to the SIP Dect Line, User built with login code of 258080 on the User/Telephony/Supervisor Settings tab. Everything looks correct but I cannot get it working. It continually fails to login. System status shows that it is trying and it is logging errors. I have been looking for hours. Am I missing something?

had the same issue, try this on the 1st user tab there is a password field as well define the password there and retest, make at least 6 to 7 digits long and yes I know it normally is configured at the user/ telephony/supervisor settings tab. Give this a try
