Hi, Here is my VPN problem, I have a PC at home running XP Pro. I have a D-Link704 Router connected to my pc. The network guys gave me the VPN client software to load at home, I did. Here is the weird part, I can hit our VPN because i get a msg. that one of the network guys put in to show that we are connected. Once in, I cannot connect to any of my servers via PC Anywhere. When i try to connect, it just times out. I try and ping the IP addresses and i cannot ping. Any ideas? I know i am not given you much to go on but, I am not an expert on VPN's or firewalls. Can anyone give me any ideas as to what to check. Thanks

This is not an answer i have the same problem, if you get an answer please let me know

i connected finally, set port to 1723 and made sure that one of my connections was set to the ip address that the vpn was giving me

Karmel, I know this will sound dumb but, where did you set the port to 1723 and could you give me some more detail as to the connection you set up to the IP address? Again, I apologize for the "NOVICE" questions but, that s what i am. When I got my D-Link home, all i did was unbox it and plug it in. I have not attempted to set any of it's settings. (Could be the problem huh?) Thanks, I do appreciate it!! Rick

Dlink Access Control-allow ports 1723-dont put it in first slot. If you know of how to copy pictures to this reply thing i could just leave them or give me ur email and i will send u about 11 pictures of dlink and some settings.

Hey Karmel, I appreciate it, Here is my e-mail address:

What VPN client do you try to install?

Some will work with NAT and some will not

Hi Chuka, I know it is a Cisco Systems VPN Client, Do you need specifics? I can find out exact version(??) Thanks
