Hi all.

I have a new install of CX with a quad CIM in slot 1.
I then have four ASUII connected. The fourth ASUII in the fourth port is showing port not supported. What does this mean and how is it resolved?
I want to be able to connect the ASUII to that fourth port.

You are out of luck I'm afraid.

On CX, CXi, CX II, and CXi II controllers, only the first three ports on each Quad CIM are functional — the fourth port is not supported; from thge help files.

Does this mean I need another quad cim or the maximum ASU2s on the CXii is 3?

NO Max of 3 connected devices to CIMS on cxII
no point putting another card in , you can only connect a max of 3x asu's to a cx

what you need is a MXE

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

and due to an endless stream of MiCollab , MiCC issues
Life would be simpler If only they tested products properly before releasing them .....

Billz66;

You can install a maximum of two Quad CIM modules in a 3300 ICP controller with the exception of the AX controller which only supports one Quad CIM module. A Quad CIM module provides 4 ports. You can connect an ASU, a Universal ASU, or an ASU II to a Quad CIM port.

notes1.gifNotes:

You cannot install any CIMs in an MXe Server.

On CX, CXi, CX II, and CXi II controllers, only the first three ports on each Quad CIM are functional — the fourth port is not supported

I assumed a CX11 since the op said 'new' and yes the hardware manual says only one CIM for the CX which kinda goes against what the help files say.

I didnt say Mxe server ( thats a software deployment)

i said MXe - latest version is MXeIII - can have 2 additional Quad cim ports and supports up to 12 ASU

Cx/Cxi/CxII supports 1 Quad cim (can be installed in 1 of 2 ports) but only 3 ports are available( supports 3 ASU)

Yes, but I see where the help file is deceptive. Might have said AX as not instead of implying 2.
