i have installed the cvd and inserted the dongle but i am getting a message saying the following

"site has been disconnected beacuse proper system authorisation is missing......."

also does anyone know the port number i should use for ip connection through cvd ??

thanks

The port for CVD to connect to the MAP Card on the Coral is TCP port 11004 but this is not your problem.

Check FEAT,1,0 and you'll find that CVD is not Authorized. You need to purchased Authorization to allow CVD to work. Authorization is linked to the SAU.

CVD_PRO is always Authorized but uses a different dongle. This is for Tadiran dealer engineers to connect to any system and this must also be bought (under a different part number) from them.

You can use HyperTerminal/Telnet and connect on port 11010. SMDR uses 11002 and there are other ports for various things.

Hope this helps.

CVD does not require a dongle, just authorization. And I thought the port was 11010 same as the PI, but don't have an office running right now to check.

Exqueeze me but CVA, CVD & CVP_PRO all require dongles and authorization (CVD_PRO auth is including in all systems).

If you do not have a dongle attached to your PC then you will not be able to run the software. If you have the dongle but no auth, you will be able to run the software but not talk to a system.

IPx Office CVD auth P/N 77447500528
IPx Office CVA auth P/N 77447500527
All Systems CVD software/dongle P/N 72480912500
All Systems CVA software/dongle P/N 72480911900
(there are also additional part numbers for authorization for both CVD & CVA on 200/400/500/800 and 3000/4000/5000/6000 systems)

Here's a paste directly from the PI manual with the port numbers (p27-4 of the 15.5x PI manual)

11010 is for command line PI
11004 is for CVD

Parameter Name | PI Branch Name | Root | Default TCP Port
DEST [4] | Wakeup Control | Wakeup, 0 | 11001
CHARGE_DEST[12]| SMDR Control | SMDR, 0 | 11002
CALL TRACE TERMINAL | Call Trace Terminal | Root, 3, 6 | 11003
CVD | NA | NA | 11004
CFM | NA | NA | 11015
TRAFFIC_TERM# | CVT Terminal Dest | Root, 3, 5 | 11006
SMDR_DEST [11] | SMDR Control | SMDR, 0 | 11007
DIAG | Terminal Destination | MSG, 2, 2 | 11008
STIMU | Terminal Destination | MSG, 2, 2 | 11009
FROM/TO TERM # | Terminal Setup | TERM, 0 | 11010

Whilst working for Tadiran in the UK I specifically set CVD up on IPx Office systems.

Hope this clarifies it.

Does anyone know which tcp and udp ports need to be open for the ip phones and ip softphones on the ipx office.
i have access to allthe manuals but cannot find the information

thanks

Do a IP,0,1,1,SH,SH,SL,SL (where SH=shelf,SL=slot of the UGW card). This will display the settings for the IP card.

Do an IP,3,1, which will show you general IP settings including the base RTP port (usually 16400) and whether MGCP uses 2427 or 2727.

This is what is usually used.
MGCP - UDP 2427
SIP - UDP 5060
RTP - UDP 16400-19999

On the Documentation CD there is a specific PDF for the "VoIP Installation" manual.

Depending on your configuration you may not need to open ports. If you have users at home who have an IP hardphone you must use a hardware VPN (not software). Once on the VPN you will probably have an internal IP address and therefore not need to get thru the firewall. Likewise with a FLIPS softphone, you'll need a VPN (software will work) and you'll be "inside" the network. If you are using Sentinel because you don't have VPNs then you may need to open the ports on the firewall to go thru to the Sentinel which will then pass it to the Coral.

Make sense?

I be to disagree, CVA and CVD do not require dongles here in the US, maybe in the UK. I've loaded and used both on 500's and offices and never had a dongle.

Also, I've connected IP, both hard and soft without VPN.

I wouldn't be surprised. Tadiran operate two standards, one for the US and for the rest of the world. Apps like FMProg & ASCII operate differently too.

i have opened relevant ports and the flips connects like a dream.
there is no VPN on this connection

You also need to load mysql and myodbc before installing CVD or CVA...CVD Pro is for out of America only.
YOU DO NOT NEED A DONGLE TO RUN CVD OR CVA IN AMERICA!
STEP 1 -install mysql
STEP 2 -Run myodbc
Step 3 - CVA or CVD.
Yes, it must be authorized in FEAT.

I beg do differ on that slightly. CVD PRO is available in other countries, it's authorization is supplied on all systems in at least 3 countries around the world that I've worked in but the software/dongle itself is more expensive that CVD.

CVD PRO is designed for techs working on systems all the time (hence the Auth being on all systems). CVD/CVA is for customers (hence Auth needs to be bought only if a customer wants it).
