I have a large image of what I would like my website to look like. How can I cut it in Dreamweaver so that i can put text on certain areas and eventually turn it into a template?
(1)Choose modify + page properties then go down to tracing image and browse till you find your image. Your image will appear in the background, then you can build over the top of it, eventually deleting it when you are done.
(2) Put your image in a layer. every time you want to put text over the top, create a new layer and type in this layer, draggin the layer and text where you want it. If when you are finished you want
If you want to cut the image up itself so you can use bits of it, use fireworks. Download the demo from macromedia
I'm thinking unless I have a clear picture of your image and what you are trying to do, I might jsut confuse you mroe if I try and advise further. Does it incldue buttons? Is it jsut a background?
Can you post your image to a site somewhere so I can have a peek?
Basically a huge image of the site design. I plan on cutting it up and making mages the exact sive to do the roll over effects and such.... or maybe incorporating them in my fireworks file.
There are dozens of ways you could do this. I'm afraid without seeing your iamge I'm nto really going to help but telling you what I reckon you should do.
Basically I just want to know if I could do this and so how. I really have no idea but if you want a look of something I'm thinking of just look at any site...
I just want to take an image and breakit up into html/or find a way to incorporate it so I can edit it easily.
You are going to have to learn how to use fireworks.
Its too complex for me to explain a theoretical. The firworks tutorials is very good. I'd suggest you try not to cut too mnay corners and just learn it.
