I'd like to automatically override the default min/max axis values for a graph, based on the report data. For example, if all the values are in the range of 0.98 to 1.0, I'd like the min axis value to be 0.97 and the max value to be 1.1. By default, MSTR Web gives me a min value of 0 and a max value of 1, and the resulting line graph displays a flat line.

Is there a way to do it? Via a custom transform perhaps?

Under the menu Graph --> Grids and Scales… select "Y1 Axis" tab on the left then select the "Scales" tab across the top.

Uncheck "Always include Zero in the Scale". The graph will auto select numbers based on the data. This is also where you can hard code values for the min and max.

If your data is all decimals then you may need to go on the Numbers tab and change the # of decimal places displayed.

Hope this helps

Thanks! Your tip worked great.

Now I have a similar issue which cannot be solved via the Graph menu. I'd like to set the axis number format dynamically (e.g sometimes axis numbers need to be formatted as percentages, sometimes as integers). I don't know ahead of time what the format needs to be, since the report contains a metric prompt. I need to customize MSTR Web so that every time the report is run, a piece of custom code will set the correct number format based on a rule (e.g. if the metric name contains a % sign then format as percent). Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

this is more like a bug fix request. The graph axis should dynamically pick up the formatting of the metric being graphed...log it with tech support.
