Hi all,
the situation is as below. I have Linux server which has
critical application on it. and this Aplication has
requirement that xinetd MUST NOT work on it .. so in this
situation how to be. is there any way to start netbackup client's daemons manually, or is there any way to customize
its installation? Im looking for any solution how to start it
without xinetd service ..

Howdy,
Linux appears to require xinetd in order to use NBU.
If there is a question about security, xinetd can be locked down. Another possible way MAY be to configure bpcd as a service that is always LISTENING, but xinetd is the Linux standard listener.

Thanks,

hi thank you for your reply.
so is there any other listener for linux?
or the way that u said, how i can make bpcd listen all the
time? and not only bpcd, as I know there are three processes
for NBU client.

10x all ..
problem solved with "tcpserver" .

Good luck all
