Hi all,

Can I create a group in the Global Address Book in Exchange 2003 that contains the email addresses of the company addressess?

In the System Manager of MS Exchange Server, what is the use of "Add Address List" in the "All Groups" under "Recipients"?

Thank you.

Regards,
Daryl

hi there,

i am new to exchange and have loked through 49 pages to get this. if anyone can help it would be greately appreciated.

if i try to add a contact from outlook it say "i am not allowed

In Exchange 2003, all clients will use the Default Global Address list as default. You can create extra global address lists but the clients won't be able to see them unless you specifically deny them access to the Default Global Address List. Then they could access your extra GAL, but won't be able to use the Default GAL.

I can post more info on address lists tomorrow as I don't have access to my notes where I am at the moment.

In the meantime, please try and be a bit more specific in what you are trying to achieve.

Thanks.

thanks for the rapid response, I am trying to achieve a list that can show all the companies contacts. Allowing them to view a list of emails fax numbers etc.

Is it possible for them to edit these details through their outlook?

OK, I think the best solution for you would be to create a public folder that only contains contacts. That way you can control who can add to it or update it and you can also control who can see it as well.

I have used this method in the past and it works well.
