We're running progression 7.6.300a SQL. When we bring up the search screen for customers and enter a value in the cus_no field and then click search or even tab off of it the value changes to all zeros and basically the search fails.
This also happens on the vendor search.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

When you enter a value for cus_no, what is the argument? This is indicated by the drop down box immediately above your value, the choices are "begins with", "equals", "contains" and "like".

Also please indicate what screen you are on and what search you are using. In Customer Maintenance, for example, there are 3 customer searches - customer number, customer sort name, and zip code, any of which you can enter a partial value of cus_no to start the search.

On other screens, there are different customer searches.

Also, there is no option to click on "search" when searching for a customer in Progression SQL. You can click on "begin search" however.

My comments may appear to be petty, but is not meant to be that way. Sometimes slight miscommunications can make a huge difference.

Please post back with your findings.

I was on the "AR-View-Customer Maintenance" screen. I tried all 4 searches (we added one for phone number) and all 4 arguments. I clicked on "begin search".
I failed to mention, if I tab off of cus_no it changes the value I entered (ie. M22) to 00000000, but if I shift tab back to cus_no it reverts back to the value I entered.
The same thing happens with the vendor search. For instance on screen AP-Maintenance-Vendor when I search on vendor number. The vend_no field behaves exactly like the cus_no field described above on all 3 searches and 4 arguments.

Hmmm.....did this behavior start when you added a new search?

If so then lets delete the new search and try it again.

If not lets to go to system manager and export, initialize and import the SQLSRCH table. PLEASE EXPORT FIRST! If not you will lose ALL SEARCHES.

I don't know when it started, but it seems a rebuild would be the first place to start if this is something that just our site is experiencing, which I'm assuming from your answers is the case. Thanks.
I was curious why you suggested export, initialize, import as opposed to just rebuild, which the doc indicates a rebuild does. Also, I didn't see an initialize for SQLSRCH.
I'm going to have to wait until some morning when everyone is out before doing the rebuild.

As Don will soon point out. The reason we like to do Export, Initialize and then manual import is the following.

When you do a rebuild it can sometimes mess up and you will end up initilizing a file and have no way to fix it.

By manually doing it you know that you have the text file and should anything go wrong after the export you know you at least have your data.

Salescp is correct, the SQLSRCH has no initialize option. Unbelievable. I'll submit this as a bug.

In the meantime please rebuild the file, and let us know if this works.
