Well here we go again. My only customer with this merlin box that I really hate. So the customer calls and says all of a sudden when someone calls extension 523, it goes to a recording to dial a 1 or 0. My knowledge would say we have a error in call forward. problem is I know so little about this particular system, I need some help. Can I cancel call forward at the set? Do I need to go into programming to do this? The profile of this unit is located in my other posts. I am going to take a look at that as well as try an find a way to cancel and re establish call forward to the guys cell phone. Any help would be great. Thanks all. brad

It does sound like call forwarding is not set-up properly. You probably need to dial 91 and then the area code and phone number. *33 or #33 (depending upon the release) lets you set call forward from the phone itself.

Thanks Tommy, I will try that. going to head there today. Brad

Ok, guys here is the scoop. It turns out they were attempting to forward the extension. The 1 or 0 recording is the phone company recording. I shut that off and the phone rings and goes to internal voice mail. Now the guy wants to forward the extension to his cell phone after a few rings because he sits at the desk and wishes to answer the phone. I set up the forward and it goes to the cell phone immediately. So my question is, can I program the number of rings from his phone or is this a job for master programming. I have the Use guide for the phone, I believe an Avaya 4424+ but it does not seem to cover that. Thanks for the help in advance. Brad

You need to set that via master programming either from the console or through WinSPM software. Under extensions you have an option for delayed remote call forward (I am not sure this was available with all releases of Magix, but I am pretty sure R3 and R4 had it as a feature).

Heh Tommy, if it's not too much trouble, can you send me the steps via the console? Is this a per extension feature or a blanket that once turned on it's available all over. There is one extension that does ring a few times then goes to the cell phone. That is the guys other extension. I am pretty sure I set this one up for delayed ring in SPM, but it does not seem to be working right. I can do forwarding, but not delayed on this extension.

Tommy here this time......

Tommy, Thank you very much. With all my years of telephone know how, this system is probably the worst one I have ever dealt with. It also was never kept up either. If I can ever help you with anything that I know like mainly Panasonic, please let me know. I am also a radio and electronics type guy, paging, audio etc. Brad
