We are going to be converting some existing S8500 and S8300's to ESS/LSP's in the near future and are planning on doing most of the work ourselves. Can customers access the RFA site to download license files for LSP/ESS servers or can you only get the files from Avaya or a BP? I can get to the RFA site, but it asks for Group Authorization Identifiers??

Thanks in advance,

Josh

I've never heard of a customer getting access to the RFA server. You also need someone to do the back end paperwork to change the license files from ICC to ESS/LSP.

you absolutley need a Business Partner or AVAYA, you will need to do RFA revert backs (to get the IPSIs and Gateways Serial Numbers removed from the old licenses, since RFA won't let you use those serial #'s again on your new LSP/ESS licenses), and need new material codes for the LSP/ESS licenses. If you don't have advanced networking on the switch you are putting these on, there is a cost to the LSP license, and a HUGE cost for the ESS license ($40,000).

I would find a friendly Business Partner to work with, you will need to sign paperwork to get their GAI (Group Authorization Identifier) on your RFA SID record, so they can help/work with you.
