Hi all

I have a CD image on a server that has an OEM drivers folder containing a copy of numerous drivers for all of our PC's. I would like to create a CD that i can boot a PC from and it will just install, is there a location that i can place an Unattend.txt file on the CD to do this without having to have the Winnt.sif file on a floppy?

Also what software would you recommend for pulling all of these files together and creating a bootable CD?

Thanks.

Just put the unnattend.txt in the I386 folder of your CD or folder that you will be using to install the OS.

Ok so just replace the eg one that is already in there?

Suggestions for software to turn all of this into an ISO to burn to CD.

Cheers.

There is freeware software right up your alley. It is called nLite. Website is:
It does everything you want and more. You can integrate drivers, add apps, remove/disable stuff in Windows. Tons of features. And it is incredibly easy to use.

Just a word of warning about nlite - which is very good. If you use lots of its options, check the end result before deciding its ok (have had some decidedly odd XP installs produced from some of my nlite efforts). Remember it is still beta software and does have some bugs in it.

Ok it looks good i'm not planning on much customisation i've added a few drivers and an answer file, i still have one minor problem. I would like the fullunattend to partition the whole disk and format it as NTFS then finish the install, at the moment it asks me which partition to install to if there is already a partition then the rest works just fine.

The start of my file looks like this

[Data]
Autopartition = 1
MsDosInitiated = 0
UnattendedInstall = "Yes"

[Unattended]
UnattendMode = FullUnattended
FileSystem=ConvertNTFS
UnattendSwitch = "No"
OemPreinstall = "Yes"
OemSkipEula = "Yes"
FileSystem = *
WaitForReboot = "No"
NoWaitAfterTextMode = 1
NoWaitAfterGUIMode = 1
DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore

Thanks.

nLite seemed pretty good but when i use it to add drivers i'm getting allot of frisbees, but it's ok when i just make a few tweeks and create an ISO.

Can someone suggest an alternative piece of software that will allow me to just add an $OEM$ drivers folder to a windows CD then make it back into an ISO image. Preferably free as i will only need to do this once.

Thanks.

Oh and i sorted the above problem, i'd missed the repartition bit which is very poorly documented by MS.

[Data]
Autopartition = 1
MsDosInitiated = 0
UnattendedInstall = "Yes"

[Unattended]
UnattendMode = FullUnattended
Repartition=Yes
FileSystem=ConvertNTFS
