I am using Excel 2002. currently I have locked my cells so they may not be edited. If a user tries to edit a cell, Excel displays a custom error message stating that cells are locked and protected.

Is there a way to replace this message with one of my own? I know you can do this is Access or VB.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of any way of doing this in Excel. A workround might be to use the Worksheet_Change event to trap any attempt to change cells you want to protect, then warn the user accordingly.

In your object browser press the F1 key on the Change event of the Worksheet object.
