Custom Bullet In MS word

Two choices:
1. Upgrade to 2000 because 97 does not have this capability, but Word 2000 does.
2. Create a two-column table. Immediately hit Ctrl-Alt-U to remove the borders. (Be sure to be showing gridlines. If the table disappears, hit Table-Show gridlines.) Insert your image into the left-hand column of the first row (When you insert your image, you must remove the Float over text option, or you will not be able to place the image inside the table cell.), and then drag your column so it has enough space between the bullet and the text you type in the right-hand cell. Hit tab to create new rows and just hold the Ctrl key down and drag your image into each new row (holding the control while dragging COPIES the object/text). Brainbench MVP for Microsoft Word

Here's a way to fake it. Start a paragraph. Choose your symbol (Insert Symbol). Type the first bullet. Format Paragraph. Under "special" choose Hanging and under "by" choose 0.2.
In Word 2000, after you do this for a couple of paragraphs, Word seems to know you want it to be a bullet and puts the bullets in for you.
If this doesn't work that way for 97, you can insert your symbol, type your paragraph and repeat this until you have all your bullets. Then highlight all the paragraphs and format them once.

Duh - In Word 2000, Format - Bullets & Numbering - Customize - Bullet and then you can choose the bullet. Don't know if this is the same in 97. If not the fake way above should work.
