How can I make a half circle out of a line of text?

Thank you,

draw your circle and type your text...then select both and go to text>align to path

yes.
draw a circle- no fill only outline, with the knife tool cut the circle in half and remove the part you don't want.
type out the text, select the text and the half circle (path)and go to the text menu- atttach to path- or use Control- Shift- Y, this will shift you text to the path.
Then you can use the text alignment tools to sit the text where you want.
(I actually think you will find most of this information in the help menu)

Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..

I've been looking through the help menu, but if you don't know the correct words you can't get an answer. One program would refer to the method with a different word than another.
And the manual isn't to helpful.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

As you can guess, I'm switching from one program to Fireworks. I would have thought for the top dollar they charge you would get a manual that was comprehensive. Even the tutorial they have has mistakes in it.

Thanks,
