Im trying to create a web page with a coloured bar across the top, left navbar panel, and a curved internal corner that joins the two.

What is the best way to do this?

I've tried putting the curved gif in a single row table with the fireworks navbar underneath (they didn't match even thought pixel size same).

I included the curved gif as a slice in my navbar before exporting - works ok, but I need the left panel to be extendable down the page, that is, just fill one column with colour. Help.

Make the left nav. bar as a background image.
File new > make it at least 1024 wide and a few pixels high.
Draw a box on the left side of your canvas in FW.
Keep it as wide as you made your arch curve down.
Fill it in the same color as your colored bar accross the top.
Export it, and make it the background graphic of your webpage.
Hope this helps.
