Cannot use the cursor inside of a document. It works fine clicking anywhere else as far as clicking toolbars but cannot click on text in any way. Cursor works in a text document, excel. I have repaired the office installation and uninstalled and reinstalled, and restarted computer. NO help. I have removed the Normal.dot file and this did not help.

I can still work but it is annoying.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the document is protected.

Does Tools > show Unprotect Document? With a bunch of other menu items greyed out?

If it does, then the document is protected, and the cursor will not go into ANY protected sections (other than formfields).

I found the problem. On a old forum on another site a member said an add-in could be the problem. He gave 2 examples, Laserfiche and PaperPort. Both of these we use. I started Office in SafeMode and the cursor worked. Laserfiche was the only add-in that was in Word. I uninstalled Laserfiche and opened Word normally and it worked. Thank you all for your help. I hope one day I can be of service to you.
Thanks
