We just upgraded from 4.1. I cannot locate configs with which I was familiar. I have one call handler where if the caller does not press an option key they should be transferred to ring a particular extension, instead the caller is sent directly to that extension's VM. I have compared call handler configurations and tried to locate where to set this and have been unsuccessful. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Teresa

Check the mailbox of the person that is to receive the call. It should be set to 'Ring the Extension' in that mailbox. The issue you are having is not in the CallHandler, it's in the indiviuals mailbox.

Thanks for the reply - I cannot believe I'm having this much trouble locating where to edit this - and maybe that is not the problem. I've checked Transfer Rules (though I've been everywhere by now) and this site's setting are identical to other sites where they are not experiencing any problems. I've seen a few other settings that either did transfer with the upgrade or flipped to something new. Do I need to access the Cisco Personal Communications Assistant? Thanks for your time, Teresa

From the book: (Sysadmin guide for CUCX Rls 8.x, Page 4-9)
This is for auto attendant, but I would think the action of a System call handler would be similar:

"If no digits are entered, Connection proceeds with the after greeting action for the STANDARD GREETING for this call handler, which is configured to attempt to transfer the call to the Operator call handler."

It appears that for both the Call Handler and the destination extension/User, their Edit Transfer Rules are unique from other Call Handlers and Users. The Call Handler's Standard rule's setting for Play the "Wait While I Transfer Your Call" Prompt is unchecked. Its Closed and Alternate rules also have the same box unchecked. All other Call Handlers have these boxes checked. The Extension/User's Edit Transfer Rules are unique from other Users. The User's Standard rule's setting for the same setting is also unchecked. Its Closed and Alternate rules are checked. All other User's Edit Transfer Rules have these boxes checked.

The checkbox is muted. It activates when I change Transfer Calls to: from Greetings to Extension. Then I can check the box in question. Then if I go back to Greetings from Extension, the checkbox remains checked but is now greyed out. All this behavior seems standard to me. All other Transfer Actions are set to Greetings with the checkbox for the message checked. Now when I click on save, the check goes away.

We are thinking we are going to have to delete and recreate this one call handler. Any other thoughts?
Thanks, Teresa
