I need some assistance in configuring a Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.1. We are going to use MS Exchange UM for Voicemail and AA, and already have that setup and working. I just need assistance in configuring a SIP trunk in the system as well as the dial plans. I am new to the cisco voice world, I know Avaya and would rather have gone to an Avaya or even an Asterisk system, but the powers that be already had this CUCM and want to use it instead of paying for a new system.

Hi. I have been trying to get my CUCM 7.1 system to work Exchange 2010 UM for a few weeks now. This isn't a critical situation, I am just trying to save my company a few thousands of dollars (the alternative is to upgrade to the latest flavor of Unity). I have a couple links posted here at the bottom that you may have seen or not, if not they might help.
My setup problem is that I can make an internal call to the UM attendant and enter in the test number (or ask for the name of the test account) the system then attempts to transfer me to the test extension and then...nothing, or rather it tells me that it cannot transfer my call at this time. I am not able to call the UM attendant pilot from the outside world. I had TAC look at my call logs for the test calls as well as my SIP setup and they say everything is OK in the Cisco world so the problem is MicroSoft.
Have you found any good guides for this or found a solution yet? If so please share.
