Hi,

I'm having problems loading on CUCM 7.1.3 onto VMware ESxi 4.

I've created a virtual machine with the following:
80G disk space
2048 RAM
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (64bit) also tried Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (64bit)and Red Hat Linux Other (64bit)
Uploaded the ISO to the datastore and ticked the box to connect at power on.

Basically the CUCM is loaded after I enter all the normal IP addressing, hostname, DNS etc etc
When all the software packages are loaded (314 of them I think) a blue screen appears and I'm unable to do anything else. So I disconnect from the datastore and power off the virtual machine. Upon a reboot it says there is an error and it need to be restarted. Rebooting again brings up the same message.

Anyones help or thoughts are much appreciated.

Billy

Firstly, as I'm sure you know CUCM 7.x is unsupported on ESX. I believe that ESX4 is a supported platform for CUCM 8.

Aside from that, I've run CUCM 7 in a lab environment using ESX v3.5. Why are you running RHEL 4 or 5 with 64-bit? I don't understand especially as you are only using 2GB RAM in your virtual server.

Try choosing the OS Type as RHEL version 3 32-bit. The rest of your settings look fine. Please post afterwards if the error keeps occurring.

I've got it all working now using the settings in my first post above.

I turned off my wireless on my laptop that was using the same subnet as the vmware (doh!)

Whats the impact of the Subnet of the WLAN adapter on your Laptop on the ESXi System ? Did you run ESXi on your Laptop ?
Assuming that you did install ESXi on a seperate system
where is the impact of the WLAN subnet to your ESXi system ?
