Does Ctrl Alt Delete work with Windows ME?

I have only used Windows ME on one system, and can't seem to get it to work. I had assumed that it was standard with all versions of windows (post 3.1)

I have tried right clicking the task bar, and it doesn't come up with the option.

Is there a way to disable/enable Ctrl Alt Delete?

Any help would be appreciated. This question is driving me nuts.

Thanks in advance.

Tom.

CTRL-ALT-DELETE does work in Windows ME. the task manager choice on the taskbar is not in WIndows ME though.

Thanks for the help. I have figured out what the problem is. The Alt key doesn't work.

Neither of the Alt keys work, which seems unlikely. I am wondering if special drivers are required. There are power, standby, and wake buttons on the Keyboard. I have installed software that enables these power keys, but it didn't help with the Alt key.

If anybody has any information that might be useful, or has encountered this problem, I would like to hear about it.

Tom.

The last time I saw something like this is was in fact the alt keys. Get another keyboard that fits the machine and try it.

It might sound too basic - this fix worked for a similar keyboard deficiency ....
Device Manager - Remove Keyboard - Restart. Note do this even if Dev Mgr doesnt show problems.
The hardware wizard will reestablish the keyboard when windows starts and apply default driver. That should get the mapping to the ALT keys. As for the special KEYS, you may need the driver (newest) from the manufacturer (make sure it works with WinME).

Hello

I CURRENTLY ENCOUNTER THE SAME PROBLEM EXACTLY :
No CTRL ALT SUP and Sleep whenever ALT is pressed (which can become surprisingly ennoyingn !!!)

I have tried JANBLAST tip but it did not change anything?

Do you know what to do??
