Has anyone had any problems with ctlsvr.exe maxing up CPU. Once I kill the process my server speeds back up and CPU usage drops back down. CTLSVR.exe is using up between 94-98%. Operating systems is Server 2003. Any advice would help. Thanks.

please post the version information.
and it's important to read the debouts to see what it's doing, or trying to do.
thx.

version 6.5.24. Happening both in TS and QS, nothing in the debouts that looks suspect. Only happening with this version, we did not have this issue on 6.2.35.

Well, there ya go, upgrade.

And sorry, I didn't see the version in this posts title.

While I don't have experience with this version, I've also never seen this. So that's another indicator that an upgrade is in order.

I know this is a little late but it is probably a database upgrade happening on each of the dated folders

By now it may have completed the upgrade depending on the number of folders (or you may be stuck with some problem that is crapping on CTLSVR) but if it is still happenning try removing all dated folders from the Aloha directory. Sometimes depending on your windows user configuration you may not see the cmd window that shows you the processes being run by CTLSVR.exe.

If all is stable without the dated folders try adding them back 1 at a time then a few at a time starting with the youngest and monitor CTRLSVR for spikes.

Ok, thanks, haven't tried that. Actually one of my co-workers saw something like that happening on a new install. That would make sense on spiking ctlsvr
