Hi !
What difference is between using CTD instead of TLD ?
We allways use TLD in conjunction with NCOS ...

CTD only comes into play when "not" dialing BARS. It has no restrictions at all on BARS call. but if you dial a Route Access code, ones and zeros are blocked on COT

TLD cannot place a 1+ call on a COT even if BARS says its OK

By the way, CTD was developed just for BARS

To add :

CTD doesn't use restriction of RLI (NCOS/FRL comparaison) but use only recstriction of FCR

TLD restrict on the both levels

Thanks for explanation !
I'am from EU...We generally use AC1=0(or AC2 or TSC)to dial over DID Route (RRI,BRI,COT)to PSTN(Local Exchange) and DSC to Accessing own Networks Nodes (TIE Call's)...

I'm also in Europa. Basically, dialing 0, going to RLI, then to rout is called NARS(Network Automatic Route Selection). Versus to BARS(B as Basic) which is use when dialing an ACOD.

You can use TLD or CTD in both case. The restriction will be made with FCR tables.

BARS is not used when you dial a Route Access Code, but I a not sure you realy meant that.

NARS or BARS is used when there is a LD86 Route List involved...that is the key.

If you dial an ACCD, you are bypassing the Route List Block.

NARS could be defined as intercompany, while BARS is from company to world.

OK....
to be clear, look what NTPs says:

BARS access code
To make long distance calls and calls to distant company locations
(on-network calls) from the system Node, the caller dials the BARS access
code (AC1) followed by the desired number. The BARS access code can be
any one- or two-digit number, provided there is no conflict with any other part of the dialing plan. It is a customer-defined option whether the caller hears the
dial tone after dialing a BARS access code.
Dialing the BARS access code triggers the BARS software to perform the call
processing and routing required for call completion. This is accomplished by
means of a network translation table associated with the BARS access code.
Normal translation is used for all other call types.

NARS access codes
To access NARS, the end user dials either of the two customer-defined NARS
access codes: AC1 (for on-net and long distance calls) and AC2 (for off-net
and local calls). Typically, AC1 is 8 and AC2 is 9. However, any one- or
two-digit codes can be used, provided that AC1 is different from AC2 and
there is no conflict with any other part of the dialing plan. It is a
customer-defined option whether the caller hears the dial tone after dialing a
NARS access code.
Dialing a NARS access code triggers the NARS software to perform the call
processing and routing required for call completion. This is accomplished by
means of network translation tables. There is a network translation table
associated with each NARS access code. This translation mechanism is used
to implement the NARS Uniform Dialing Plan (UDP) for private networks.

Do you think it's clear? In both case AC1 is used.
That concept is typically designed for US dialing plan.
European one can not be a copy of it. We may speak a long time about it.
The best to do for all, me inclued, is to read NTP 553-3001-379 Basic Network feature and apply it to its country specefic dialing plan.

I see, that's why I added the "not sure you meant it" about your statement "BARS(B as Basic) which is use when dialing an ACOD." <--- you did mean AC1 rather than ACOD (mnemonic from the LD16 RDB)

I am still geting used to BARS so you'll have to fogive me.

There's Trunk access code dialing, dialing the access code of the trunk group and selecting a trunk group directly

BARS use's AC1

NAR's use's AC1 and/or AC2

Hey I found a FAQ I am going to study

if you wanna come over, we can share LD27 Schedule Block tricks

:) :-( :) :) :-( :) :) faq181-86 :-( :) :) :-( :) :) :-( :)
