I have just moved some text that is formatted with css into a table and it's lost its formatting. Is this normal?

The table is placed within the <div> tags but still the text formatting is gone, how can I stop this happening?!

Thanks

Yes, it's normal. You will have to apply the formatting to the data within the table (e.g. you could apply it to the <td> tag).

How annoying!

I've noticed though, that if I create a rule for the text within the table and place the <div> within the <td> tag then it does apply the correct formatting. Am I ok in doing this, or will this cause other problems? It seems to look fine at the moment!

I've come across this problem too..
I made it a habbit to define the styles in every new style sheet

td{
font-size: 11px;
color: #fff
}
