I have a CS1K Rls 5.00W. I need a patch (vendor only available) but the paticular patch is written for Rls 5.00WATV. I am not sure of the difference between Rls 5.00W and 5.00WATV.
I think it has to do with a National defense version I'm not sure. Does anyone out there know for sure and could a patch for Rls 5.00WATV be used on a 5.00W rls version?

All patches have a number and also a description on what it does. Do you have any other information available as it would be difficult to answer your query as the Avaya PEP site will often display different releases for the same patch number.

Having just accessed the PEP site, I can see the dropdown box shows 90R, 50J, 00WATV as well as 00W. This would suggest that a patch issued for e.g. 05.00W wouldn't be compatible for 05.00WATV and 05.00WATV to 05.00W etc.

Yes, One would assume that but does anyone know the what the difference between 5.00W and 5.00WATV?

Well, I've looked again at the Avaya site and can see two references below. This is strange as I can't see 05.00WATV anywhere, but I can see (DSN). I think DSN = Defense Service Network?. I've never used it, but I'm not sure if this is actually meant to be referring to 05.00WATV?.

Thanks for the info Firebird Scrambler! At this point I would have to assume the WATV is the DSN version.

I have just been informed the WATV version is for Military and Government sites.

ATV - Autovon. This is the trunking type that is used for Precedence/Pre-emption (don't slaughter me on the spelling) calls on the Government network. So when the President wants to reach General so-and-so and he is talking to his personal biographer on the phone, the President can enter a code on his phone before he calls the General, and the General hears a burst tone on his phone and his line drops. The General then hangs up his phone and it begins to ring, but in bursts, not the normal ring tone.

The ATVN patch for 3.0/4.5 and 5.0, if I am correct puts the ATVN code next to the release:

CALL SERVER/MAIN CAB
VERSION 2121
RELEASE 4
ISSUE 00 T + <-- it would add ATVN here.
IDLE_SET_DISPLAY

That was one of the main fixes with the patch. There are Prcedence issues with this. Your vendor should be able to get them, but they should be Avaya Govt. Authorized. Hope this helps.

Thanks Janaya. This patch would fix our problem but it was not written for Rls. 5.00W CPPIV only for Rls 5.00W CPPM. There was one for release 6. We have contacted Avaya and they said they are no longer writing patches for Rls 5.00 so we are out of luck.

p26521_1.cpp4 - adds the ATV to the output. If this is what you are needing it is available for CPP4 processors, I'm looking at it in the ESPL. If you have a service contract on the system, you may want to ask for the latest deplist for your system. It should be included. It was not included in the original deplist that shipped with the software. From 3.0 to 5.5 it was not in there. I can understand it not being there in 3.0, and I can almost believe it was not there for 4.5, but to continue after that, I don't get it.

Also, you don't need this to make your system ATVN software. It is just a pain when you try to run a MIRCC report because MIRCC will not know it is ATVN software and return an invalid delta update. Other than that, your DSN trunks should work fine.

Thanks for all the input. We have finally resolved. Avaya has graciously produced the patch we needed.
