Hi everyone,

I have been finding solutions in this forums for a few years, this is definitely the place to go to get good answers!

I was not able to find a straightforward answer to a question I have about listing unused TN's though.

By unused, I don't mean available TN's, I mean TN's we have set up for 1140E phones (IP obviously) where no set is equipped anymore.

My goal would be to OUT those TN's to free up some licenses. Though we do have a few licenses left, I'd like to do a cleanup before I consider buying more.

Is there any command I can use to find the unequipped TN's in a virtual loop? I'm certain there is but I just can't find the answer anywhere.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You can try LDIS xx xx xx (loop shelf card)

It will list any Disabled units assigned to that card, it works on digital just not sure about IP but it's worth a try.

Go to LD 117 and enter 'stat iset all' (I don't remember which release introduced this command).

This will list all of the IP phones that are currently registered (or were registered recently).

Now go to LD 20 and enter 'stat l s c' for each virtual card in your virtual loops.

Comparing these two sets of results will allow you to see which programmed virtual TNs are not in use.

Not sure what release you have but this is a sample from Rls5.00.
You have to go to Element Manager and under tools select Logs and reports. Under that you can choose IP phone location. It will show all your IP sets. If they show UNREG they are not on line. If they show REG they are working sets.

This looks a little jumbled because of the way it copied but the view will show properly in EM.

What allenmac said. But... only works in rel 5 or higher.

The report in EM shows you at a glance what is registered and what isn't. When you stat a virtual card I don't beleive it shows what's registered and what isn't.

Thanks a lot everyone! Got what I was looking for! The only pain is all those sets that are monitored giving a SCH8783 but I was able to do a little cleanup.

Much appreciated!

For those on 4.5 or earlier... just telnet into your SigServer... it's a similar command (do a ? at the prompt and you'll get there).
