When I try to look at hyper term, nothing displays. I can set the port of the cdr_data to the ptty that I connect to and see cdr, just not through port 2 on the mgc card. I have a db9 to db25 cable hooked up and I think it is working, but not sure. Thanks for any help.

Hi,

When you connect to the MGC serial port you need to use a Null modem cable.

You have added MTC to the port so you should see something when you press enter.

Are you sure your hyper term is working correct?

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

WHen I hook up to any of the three ports on the mgc with what I believe to be a null modem, I get nothing. I have hyperterm at 9600-8-n-1 no flow control. When I also hook up strait with no null modem, I get nothing as well.

What happens when you type CTRL+L+B+D ?

nothing, with and with out the null modem cable. I know this is a good null modem cable, it is the same one I use to configure my nortel switches.

What kind of housing do you use? Cabinet or chassis? And do you use the 3 port cable? You can't connect a DB9 directly into the cabinet or chassis.

We have a chassis. I have the 3 port cable plugged into the RS-232 port on the back of the system. I am hooked up to port 0 right now.

If you are connected to port 0 you should get a prompt when you press CTRL+LDB

Still does not work. The MGC card is up and registered.

Go into LD 37 and do a STAT TTY. If TTY 9 = disabled, try enabling it by doing ENL TTY 9, etc...

the problem is:
TYPE CDR_DATACUST 00
CDR YES
IMPH NO
OMPH NO
AXID YES
TRCR YES
CDPR YES
ECDR YES
BDI YES
PORT 9 <---------problem
BCAP YES
CHLN 1
FCAF YES
CHMN 1
FCNC 0

According to your configuration of the CDR_FTR are using the port 9 ,but confuraste CDR port 2 on the MGC 0 0
Please change in the CDR_FTR
PORT 9 to PORT 2

MMMmm maybe it's because its Sunday but the Port in the CDR_DATA points to a TTY PORT and the Port in the TTY points to the port on the MGC (0-2) you want to use so the config is ok.

You could try to add SCH BUG to the port and see if you get anything
