Hi All,
Q: Anybody solved problem T.38 Relay AudioCodes to CS1000E?
Audiocodes mp-112 ver.5.4
CS1000E ver.5.5,
Registrar IP = a.b.c.12 (NRS)
SIP Proxy IP = a.b.c.10 (CS virtual IP)
MediaGateway IP = a.b.c.15

I can sent fax from Audiocodes connect fax machine outside, but cannot sent fax oposite direction. What i discover:
1. SIP session setup works fine (INVITE)
2. When to sides discover that is the FAX transmition, PROXY
is sending ifnromation to Audiocodes that RTP session
for T.38 transmission should be started with IP of MGC
a.b.c.15
3. But Audiocodes doesn't Accept this redirection with
Error Message T.38IP Address not Allowed.

What is intresting is that as in oposite direction FAX
transmistion works fine including T.38/RTP transmition to
a.b.c.15 which is the MGC.
Not Fax calls works fine in both directions.

Well Nortel CS1000E IP architecture is not easy.

I have it working on a MP 114FXS. Are you running a Nortel approved firmware revision for the audiocodes box?

To my knowledge, there is only 1 audiocodes firmware version that is compatible with Nortel.

This is from my device infomation page.

What I've tested:
- soft ver. 5.40 - problem as above T.38IP send out not works
- soft ver. 5.20 - problem as above T.38IP send out not works
- soft ver. 5.00 - general problem - software look unstable

As I see you are using v.4.80 - is it possible to obtain this image for testing?

You would have to check with your vendor. My vendor is AT&T, and they have access to the audiocodes website to obtain firmwares.

Arent you talkning about different things?
Sound like you are talking about H.323 and SIP versions.
we are using version SIP version 5.2 for the AudioCodes and have rel 5.5 in the CS1000 system.
However we have loads of problems with faxes. Some faxes work some dont. That is related to fax transmission rates I think. If anyone has succeeded with fax transmissions at any speed with AudioCodes, I would like to know.

Nope, same thing. I have SIP audiocodes with faxing setup and operating perfectly. I was told by nortel (a year ago) that the only compatible firmware is the one I have listed above.

Unless nortel has approved a newer version of the audiocodes firmware, you will need the version listed above.

Yes we are talking about SIP AudioCodes to Nortel CS1000E setting.
I have open tickets in AudioCodes and Nortel. Nortel confirm me that probably AudioCodes had produced special patch for to works
with Nortel CS1000E. I will report on forum final result of my problem investigation. For today I've obtain newest AudioCodes version 5.40A.27, but problem was not resolved.
On Nortel web site you can verify which AudioCodes version was certify with CS1000E. Unfortunately for me no any of AudioCodes software is certify for CS1000E ver. 5.50.12j so I'm probably the first. Q: to "pronei" - which software release are your CS1000E is running?

Hi,

An idea is turn to protocol to g711 until the audiocodes to solve that problem.

I've set AudioCodes MP-112 with CS1000E.
MP-112 software release recommended is MP118_SIP_F5.40A.027.001.cmp
CS1000E 5.5 or 5.0 (both checked and works fine)
To properly configure MP-112 you must to:
1. Install newest dep list on CS1k
2. Set MediaSecurity (MSEC) OFF
3. Mode is Gateway, Authentication - NO
4. SIP PROXY is CS1k Node IP and SIP REGISTRAR is CS1k NRS
