I have a customer new to Rls 7.5. From Phones in EM, she is trying to change a key from SCR to SCN (same extension). She receives a SCH0600 error (Illegal input character) when saving the change. She has to make the change a few times before it will actually save.

There is no illegal character- a simple scr to scn change... anyone experience this? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Well ... I have not seen that but you don't specify if she is nulling the key out first before doing the change - at least that is what I always do.

It could be something with EM being vitual terminal that it is throwing the error for some reason. I would have her telnet to the PBX and try it via command line to see if it still happens.

She is not nulling the key beforehand, as she never needed to do that with TM (yeah- ha ha!). However, I do believe this too may be the issue. I think EM is too slow to catch up that quickly- needs "refreshed" in sorts.

The error does not occur via CLI... just EM.

I will have her try nul 1st and see what happens... thanks for the tip!

Sure I don't like TM (as well as many other techs) for that very reason - IT IS UNRELIABLE!!! So, us skilled CLI guys stick with CLI ... EM/TM is good for training people how to use commands where they don't have CLI experience. So there is a 'purpose' for it.
