I have a customer who has a 3 cabinet opt. 11 CS1000 at the main site, all dial tone comes from here. They have an opt. 11 CS1000 cabinet at 4 other sites. All have PRI tie lines between them with SL1 interface. 1 of the sites is changing to an IP office and we want to use the existing PRI to tie it back to the main site. I have tried to change the IFC in LD 17 from SL1 to qsig (have the package) but keep getting interface change not allowed for UIPE D- channels, outed the PRI trunks and get the same message, it lets me change it to ESS5, but then the D-channel won't establish. Also changed the IFC in the route data block. Any ideas? Thanks.

You need to out the trunks, out the route, out the d-channel and build it back in reverse order. Changing the IFC has never worked for me without outing and rebuilding new. A word of caution, we tried to interface an IPO with an Opt. 11 and could never get it to work. Good luck.

If the CS1000 has the QSIG packages and the IP Office has voice networking licenses, also known as H323 networking or SCN licenses, then it will work fine. The voice networking licenses are needed on the IPO to allow you to set the PRI to QSIGB, even though the licenses say they are for H323 trunks.

I've set the DCH to ISGF and added COLP, NDI, etc as mentioned here:

OK, I outed the PRI trunks, the route and the d-channel at the main site and rebuilt them, changed the IFC to ISGF. You can dial a 4 digit extension from the remote site (now an Avaya IP office) and get an extension at the main site or another remote site, other sites can 4 digit dial the IP office, you can call a DID set up on the IP office phone from your cell phone but we can't make an outbound call from the IP office. You can see it hit the d-channel at the main site, it shows called # and calling # but get error, cause 1, unassigned number. Tried qsig b, ni2 on the IP office but it is now ess5, it seems to work the best so far. Does anyone think it could still be something on the nortel or the IP office. If I out everything and rebuild it back the way it was and plug the PRI into the nortel, you can make an outbound call.

Thanks

Also when programming the d-channel for ISGF a prompt comes up for PR_TRIGS, some of the info I found on this says to use div 3 1, cng 3 1, con 3 1 and ctr2 3 1, others say div 2 3, cng 2 3 and ctr2 1 1. How do I find out how to program this.
