Having a problem with getting SIP dialing to work from a 7.5 1000E to 5.5 1000M. IP phones appear to be using SIP trunks to the 1000M fine but when dialing from a digital set we only get a fast busy. Any ideas, I am stumped.

Hi,

Does the 1000M use the same NRS as the 1000E?

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

You have to have some DSP resources for TDM phones to talk to anything IP whether it be a phone or trunk.

DSP's are there and working. There are two MC32's in the switch. The problem I am having is when a user (digital) dials an nxx number that is thrown into a DMI table to strip the first two to only send 5 digit to NRS the call is returning a fast busy.

there is an issue with 7.5 to 5.0/5.5/6.0 via TDM set over SIP trunk

You can try p30849_1.spm or p30949_1.ss1 depending on your sig server type. These go on the Sig Srver.

If that does not work, then Avaya's stance is, the problem is now fixed in the latest release, so you have to upgrade to fix the issue
