Have a case of trouble on a dual core succession all analog sets have no ringing signal to sets on all shelves system wide they can make calls outbound and all ip phones and digital phones are o.k. . The Core 0 cabinet utility card and ccni card are in alarm state util card display is blank. There are no alarm codes . Seems to have started after a midnight system audit. Calls can be made between core cabinets and analog sets can answer a non ringing call attempt when randomly picking up handset during call attempt

make sure your ring gens are ok (if it's a cs1000mmg msg

Thanks for response ,Ring gens were replaced and still fails to ring sets on all ports and all shelves

LD 37
STAT XSM

Might need to power off/on ring generator

If after power off/on they still do not activate - try pulling system monitor card for column affected.

The monitor card , can it be hot pulled and plugged ? And I assume this is a core card ?

The sys monitor card is in the back of the column in the pedestal, remove the 2 screws in the air vent cover and it should sat NT8D22 on it, pull it out of ther PDU unit, yes it can be done hot

Thanks,

Buddy

keep trying the ring gens. I had to replace 3 in a row to get good ones.

Also, get a reading of the Voltage on one of the analog ports, see if you are getting the ringing voltage (approx 90 ac volts)

Hassell- OK I will try that when I get to prem

Triton- there was no ring current when I tested with meter on any of the ports during my port/ shelf / cabinet stack trbleshooting

the refurb parts we get now a days are poor, if nothing changed at all on the system and it just lost 500 tn ringing, the go with the most basic.

is this AC or DC?

do a stat XSM in ld 37 and see if you get any errors, they might lead you in the right direction as well.

anything in history file during the time this started?

work with 1 shelf, and get that going first. you might have to re-download the XPEC possibly, but the ring gen is the most likely candidate.

utility card- that might be an issue,

what do you get when you stat heath in ld 137?

check the status of the fiber ring (if you have FIJI cards)

also, keep in mind if you pull the sys mon card (hot) and plug it back in, you could trip all the breakers on that column.........(seen it a few times)

I have had a column with 2 IPE shelves stop ringing on all analog sets, I replaced with known good ring generators from a lab system wiht no change, pulled out the sys mon card and it started ringing, the problem was actually the PDU in the pedestal had to be replaced, that obviously had to be done after hours since I had to power down the entire column

Thanks,

Buddy

also, check if you have any powerfail transfer units as part of any TRUNK cards in those shelves, if the PFTU go then they might cause a problem.

come to think of it, you said that you have a RED LED on the SYS UTIL card, that might indicate that the SYS mon (XSM) card is bad or the connection is gone.....

hERE ARE THE RESPONSES FROM LD 37

STAT XSM

PWR 001 PWSP 00 1 2
PWR 001 PWSP 00 2 2
PWR 001 PWSP 00 3 2
PWR 016 PFTC 00 0 0

Also I pulled and reset the monitor card NT8D22 and the same stats came up in the post above when return the card to svc.

I want to mention that all of the ring gen LEDs are dark , I cant remember if they are active only in use or not ?

Thanks for replies in advance !

ALL of the Ring Generator LED's should not be dark. Check your fuses on the back side. Triton is probably right and the System Monitor card has bit the dust.

DocVic;

Fuse ......I have some breakers [main , CD2 ] are there other fuse locations behind the shelf plates ? I have 4 shelves and all of the ringgens are dark on both core 0 and core 1

No fuse just Breakers back on bottom of pedastal, Also check toggle switch on card is on.

Did you put system Monitor card back in? if so pull back out and check for lamp on Ring generator card.

(if AC Switch no switch on card but at left of shelf)

Reusser;
OK when I pull the card and leave out the ring gen card goes green and our analog phones ring

Reusser;
DocVic;

Can we run this switch without the card it appears that both are affecting service in both cabinets and need to be replaced , all phones ring with the nt8d22 removed

yes switch will run fine without system monitor cards.

You will just not get alarms for any power,fan, heat issues while cards are out.
