anyone got any tips on a good reception console for 180 odd phones, got an install coming up and need a really good/ reliable software or hardware based console will need to process on average 200 calls an hour so it needs to be fast and easy to use.

If you want a single screen based console then there is Quentris SMILE.

If you want multiple screen based consoles then yuo could also use SMILE, but then DataPulse could also enter the equation.

If you are happy to just have a stand alone console then its the 2250.

Or you could do like I have done at a few locations, they just used a 3904 phone.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

You could use a 3904 with an Add-on-module this will give you more extensions to choose from.

At 200 calls/hour, I would stick with the old reliable M2250 console.

Get a comfortable headset, and you should be good to go.

We found the Recpt could answer and tranfer calls faster using the 3904 and seeing as most other users user either 3903 or 3904 phones, we didn't have to train people on the phone to releave the Recpt for breaks.

If it is really "an average of 200 calls/hour" then nothing will work but a 2250. There is no way any one person can process than many calls and not look for another job.

even with a 2250 it's still 1 person doing it, the 2250m doesn't do any of the answering.

thanks for the great info guys, the receptionist receives the main line numbers from about 20 - 25 sites across australia thats why the call rate is so high she needs to send them back out another trunk using quick/speed dials. at the moment with the current phone system she press's *1 XXX (XXX being ext number) then the call is transfered. does the meridian have a system this efficient ?

A 3904 can do that easily using System Speed call.

A 2250 uses "switched loop termination" for extending calls (one less step), has inherent "camp on" to busy lines, queues calls and unlike ACD queuing, allows you to place calls on hold and take additional calls. You can split a misdirected call from the destination, you can barge in to a call and speak privately to either one of the parties, and of course it can use Speed Call.

One person with a bike or a pogo stick. They too, are still one person. I'd pick the bike if I were in a hurry.
