CS1000 MGC Gold Image

Hi all

i am trying to repair a corrupted MGC Card. Gold Image on Board is defective.
There is a procedure to reinstall the CSP Gold Image described in the distributors Troubleshhoting Guide:

Removing the CSP to make MGC boot from Gold Image
Steps to Put the Gold Image
• FTP the file “mainos.st.Z” to “/u” Directory
• Execute the command copyImageToFlash "mainos.st.Z", 4
Commands to remove the CSP and make it bootable from Gold Image
• Execute the command diskFormat all
• Execute the command MGCIPClear
After one reboot, MGC boots with Gold Image (like brand new card from Factory).

The problem is i can`t find the Image File mainos.st.Z
Can someone tell me where i can get this file?

Normally you can just do the MGCIPClear command and it will come up like a factory install. If you need the file you can probably get it off another card that you have.

hi, easy to recover. You can hit "CTRL+I" on mgc boot manual.
1) type "mgcIPClear" to clear existing ip from mgc card.
2) type "diskformat" to repartition cf card on mgc.
3) reboot mgc card.
4) input existing ELAN & CS ip address , when mgc reboot again, all loadware will overwrite and upgrade mgc card from call server.
5) after finish upgmg (or type "upgmg ll ss force" by LD143), transmit media gateway data to mgc via ucm or node.

We need to reeinstall the Gold Image on the card and not on CF.

There are 2 Images on the MGC Card, a CSP Gold Image and a MSP Gold Image. Bellow there is the way to reinstall the CSP Gold Image(this works if you have the right Image File).
Now i am looking for the procedure to reeinstall the MSP Gold Image. And we also need the MSP Image File. Cane someone tell me where i can get these file?

Had a look arround and cannot see the file any where on the mgc's. The file mentioned looks like a zip file and i think you wou need to be approaching avaya for it. I see the process you are mentioning in the distributors ntp but no mention of where to get it.
