Dear All,

I have CS1000M system, dual core, I have first core as Active, but once I connect to it, I can't write anything on the hyper terminal.
however, when I activate the second core, I can I access to the TTY terminal and program what ever I need, so each time the first core become active I should restart the whole PBX in order to access the PBX, any solution?
by the way, I can get errors, and Bugs when I am connected to the first core, but I can't write any character

What are you connecting to in order to get to both cores. Are you using one connection or two different connections depending what is on line? Also are you going straight in to the core or in to a TTY port.

I am connecting Directly to the back of the core through J25,
when I conect to the first core, I can't write any character,
so I have to switch the cores, then the second core will be active and I can write and log in and every thing.

Are you saying above...that you stay connected to the same J25, then switch cores and then it works?

No, I am saying when I connect to the first core while it is active, then I can't write characters, but I switch the cores, and connect to the second core in order to log in and connect.

please, advise

If you connect directly to one core, you will only be able to interface with that one core, and only when it is on line, though you will still get errors and system info printed. You probably need to find a spare TTY port and go in that way, you will be able to communicate no matter which side is on line.

But, there is only is cs1000M 1 J25 active for each core, located in the back of that core, and when I connect to it, no character is accepted, It's like pressing null, so I can't type any character, in the first core when it's active, so I switch cores and connect to the second core in order to connect

Could be someone has changed the TTY settings on the processors (each "J25" has its own TTY) - baud rate, flow control or similar.

Print them in LD 22: REQ PRT, TYPE ADAN TTY and check.
From memory the processors have CTYP=CPSI.

If you can access PDT on that core it could just be the TTY is disabled in LD 37, I've seen that on some 11C recently - if you get PDT prompt at least you know cables and serial settings are good. Sometimes 11C gives rubbish on the same TTY put PDT is fine.

Connect J25 on Core 0 you cannot type anything (like LOGI)
Connect J25 on Core 1 you can type and log into the switch.

If you log in on Core 1 go to LD 22

REQ: PRT
Type: OVLY

Look for SCPU_MID. It may be set to NO. Which means the cores do not switch each night like they did back in pre Pentium days.

Reconnect to Core 0 and just leave connected. You may see a message that is reapeated over and over. Not a lot but enough to know it is checkig the heartbeat to the other core.

This just means that you are connected to the inactive core. You can go back to the other Core (the one where you can log in) and go to LD 135 and to an .SCPU to swap cores. (use your judgement as to when you want to do this. if you are a busy call center wait for a slow time) You may not be able to type any more and you will see some messges about system flush, yada yada yada...

Then connect to the other Core J25 and you should be at LD 135 . prompt.

If all that is happening is you can't log in, then it's probably inactive. If you swap and still cannot log in, reset that Core module (after you do an EDD on the other core).

Hope this helps.
