I have a CS1000 with ITG cards and Nortel IP phones. I also know I have 3 Voip zones 0, 1 and 2. How can I list what resources, Phones and ITG cards are assigned to what zones? I am receiving Intermitten packet loss errors from the PBX but do not have any IP or resource to use as a starting point to find the source of the problem? Any Ideas or help is appreciated. Gerald

Print your trunks, VGW channels and IP phone TNs. You'll be able to see what zones are being used.

Don't use zone 0. Bandwidth can't be controlled properly with zone 0.

Hello

Thank you for this information. It looks like definately The IP phones are all built in Zone 0 It prints out Zone 000. Can you provide more explaination concerning the layout of zones, or point me to any documentation, So far I have not found anything in the nortel stuff I have.

Thank you.

@DRZEM

Chech out the bandwidth Management section in the data networking NTP. Its pretty detailed in there.

What we did is create zones for each floor so for example our 2nd floor is zone 42, 3rd floor zone 43 etc. Each time we add a phone we assign it to the proper zone based on the floor they are on; that way if we having VoIP bandwidth erros we know which floor the problem is isolated to. As far as how to find out what your zones are doing; that's kind of difficult unless you know who built the system or you do an audit.

You can do as Biv says just LD20 prt TNB and then use mv.xls (pepedog.com)to stick it in to excel A-Z the Zone column. Or in LD81 LST the Zones to get all the TNs in that Zone. To see how many sets are in each zone LD117 "ECNT Zone x" where x is the zone number or put nothing and get them all.
